Although the gondola ride itself is quick, most commuters would likely have to use the trains once arriving in Manhattan, further congesting stops near the gondola exit. Not only that, but it's quite a long walk from the Manhattan end of the gondola to the nearest train station (Delancey/Essex). |

To cross into the LES, maybe it's easier just to have buses w/ bus lanes on the WBridge? To make it a bit fairer, maybe make them truck/bus lanes. Just saying. And considering how the gondola system works for Roosevelt Island, I don't think the longer routes are as feasible. |

How well-used is the 34th St dock of the East River Ferry? Or, more particularly, what do people do when they get off? Do they all go for the M34 or do they walk? The subway isn't close there either. |

You've just pointed out the big problem with East River ferries. No matter what you do, it takes a fair amount of time to get from 34th and FDR to most midtown office buildings. |

This isn't as big a problem downtown because downtown is more compact and there are plenty of offices within a reasonable walking distance of the rivers. |
