I've traveled a lot and I don't think the right-wing militia element is at 9% even in hotbeds like Idaho and Montana. I think that it's less than 1% nationally. |

I participate in a few forums where the paranoia factor is high. Again, these aren't people who would refuse to pay their taxes or shoot a deputy, but they are people who are afraid the feds will somehow confiscate their property. |

I'm sure respondents interpreted the question in all different ways. Acceptable for what? To be applied to social policy? To be professed publicly in the streets? To be practiced? For discussion about truth?I wouldn't worry too much. I don't think the 21% should be interpreted as 21% of people planning a war to establish a religious dictatorship. |
