Assuming this is true (and they will be hugely embarrassed if it's not), do you realize how stupid it was of the police not to release this on day 2? |

Creating further instability is not what law enforcement is supposed to do. This department is proving their incompetence daily and should be disbanded and rebuilt practically from the ground up. |

A change at the top should be sufficient, if an investigation determines the chief didn't do a good job. It's a shame, really...he had an illustrious career in the St. Louis County PD, graduating from the FBI Academy a few years ago. He was a member of the County PD for more than 30 years, serving as the commander of the St. Louis County Drug Task Force, SWAT team supervisor, airplane and helicopter instructor pilot, undercover detective and hostage negotiator. The man knows how to be a cop.I'm not so sure it's incompetence as opposed to just being overwhelmed by the situation. |

I disagree, as the guys on the line won't like a shakeup and that would likely be taken out on the population in needling harassment. Those guys all need to find new jobs, away from this. Rebuild that department so it LOOKS like Ferguson. |

Cops on the line follow the lead from their commanders and sergeants. Ask Jeff Rosen, he'll tell you. A new chief who won't tolerate petty bullshit squares things away pretty quickly. How can you rebuild the Ferguson police department the way you want it to be if the supply of recruits doesn't match the demographics of the town? You can't pull people out of thin air, you know. More liberal claptrap from Ms. Know-It-All. |

Have you ever heard of a police officer facing federal charges where it can be proved he was seriously injured by the person who got shot? |

IF the police version is found to be correct, then I doubt the Feds would do anything as the police did not act outside the scope of their duties or break any laws... Of course, in a perfect world, not the "real world" of pandering, appeasing, scapegoats, sacrificial lambs to placate the Great Unwashed..... |

ALL the other members of the Ferguson PD should find new jobs? Uh.....yeah.......no. And what's with everyone's "pie-in-the-sky" Utopian theory that if you had police that are the same ethnic make-up as where they work, things would be all hunky-dory? PLUS, what if the black cops didn't want to work the black neighborhoods? Should they be FORCED to? The NYPD tried that after the Louima incident, and guess what? The black cops who got forceably transfered to the 70 precinct SUED, and WON!!! (They got a settlement)...I have a GREAT idea!!!! Give out a written test, then a physical, then do psychological background check accompanied by a test, do a REAL criminal investigation on the candidates, and then take the people with highest scores first ,who passed the other requirements, until the desired number of candidates are filled! |
