I guess drinking both for so long I can't tell the difference anymore, but if from fountain soda then I guess the Pepsi does taste sweeter. |

Fountain soda tastes like brown water anyhow no matter what the brand. When Julie goes to the Arby's by her, she stops into the deli a few blocks away and picks a 20oz bottle of diet Dr. Pepper rather than stooping to drinking fountain soda. |

Ironic that you should mention RC Cola in this Arby's thread, back in the day (late 70s) there was an Arby's in Long Beach (CA) that served RC Cola. IIRC, they were the only one in the L. A. area (at least among the ones I patronized). I think back then each Arby's franchisee could make their own soft drink deals. |

One fof the soda oddities is a while ago, Coke tried to buy Dr. Pepper. The FTC said "no deal", as it would have resulted in economic dislocation as Dr. Pepper bottlers would either have to switch to the local Coke bottler, or wind up with a Pepsi bottler that was producing a Coke product. That descision resulted in Coke creating Mr. Pibb, a Dr. Pepper clone. |
