By excluding those "morons" you're only helping my cause...

On the contrary. I've repeatedly acknowledged that (a) the morons don't take me seriously, but (b) I don't care because they're morons.

I doubt Fred G and *church*bob take you seriously anymore.

I see you have no qualms on putting words into people's mouths. Unless I hear it from them, it's bullshit. And who is churchbob?

Of all the regulars here, and there are many more then these people you've named, only one person takes you seriously?

One, plus the three you've just ignored, plus the six you listed yourself? Not too bad. And those are just the ones I've interacted with recently. For all I know, Larry Redbird R33 could think I'm a savant.

You don't think that's something to be concerned about?

Frankly, I'd be more concerned if people like GP Chris did take me seriously. I know your life revolves around SubChat, but it turns out there's a whole planet out there full of people who aren't as crazy as the OTChat Nut Brigade.

And I haven't even touched on the issue of how all the people in the bingbong list, the ones we both agree that agree with you and take you seriously, are basically insane.

Right. The people who make cogent arguments on behalf of reasonable positions are "basically insane" but I should be concerned about the opinions of psychotic bigots who can barely manage a post more coherent than "lol lmao you poor soul."

As I told you earlier, here on the left it's considered normal to disagree and debate. That doesn't mean either side doesn't take the other seriously and it certainly doesn't mean they'd dismiss every other thing said by that person.

Anyway, I didn't intend to insult you but the fact remains I find you a bit hard to read. As such, I can never be completely certain as to whether you're serious or not.

I debated you on the Confederate flag and Glendale Queens low-income housing. Both are topics I debated at length during your absence, proving my interest to be genuine.

It's one thing to doubt me. Comparing me to Edwards! is one of the worst things you can do to a man.

do kind of picture you looking like Strong Bad, though.

Of course I had to Google "Strong Bad".

I posted a pic the other day. This is me at 5'11" 215 lbs, about 20% body fat, admitting defeat to OTChatter Easy who is now in kick-ass shape due to diet and exercise.

I post a mix of intelligent and coherent posts, and fun bullshit. You post a mixture of unintelligent and/or incoherent crap, and what I presume is fun bullshit for you.

A remarkably large portion of what he says is actually coherent and well reasoned. He just hides it well.

The center used to be fairly easy to pin down, but now we have "the center" as defined by the policies people support and "the center" as determined by the policies the oligarchs support and enact. Thanks to voter suppression, redistricting, Citizens United, and the two parties' rightward shift* it's now the case that the government is considerably further right than the people.

*In previous times, both parties were forced to remain fairly close to the center lest they lose votes to the less extremist party. In recent decades, the Republicans began shifting to the right which would normally cost them elections to the centrist Democrats, except that the Democrats exploited the Republicans' rightward shift by moving right themselves— with only two parties, the Democrats have every incentive to move right because as long as they're less extreme than the Republicans, they're still closer to more people than the Republicans while closing the gap opens more votes.

That is, if 0 was furthest-right and 100 was furthest left, and the Republicans strayed as far as 10, then if the Democrats moved to 20, they would "own" the votes of anyone whose opinions fell between 15 and 100. If they stayed at 60, they would only be closer to those whose opinions fell between 35 and 100.

That their move rightward might alienate the left and convince them to vote third-party or not at all doesn't seem to have occurred to them, even though they routinely lose elections to the more extremist Republicans in spite of their plans.

Addendum:

Plus you also have to consider the influence of the right wing propaganda machine on public opinion. Is someone "conservative" if they support a conservative policy only because they have been conditioned to believe a falsehood and would change their opinions if they had accurate information? How many people who supported the Iraq war felt differently when they learned they'd been lied to? How many people would support single payer health care if they actually knew what it was and the benefits thereof? After all, polls showed that "the Affordable Care Act" was a lot more popular than "Obamacare."

Comparing me to Edwards! is one of the worst things you can do to a man.

I hardly did. It was a Barnum statement— something that applies to nearly everyone. I'm sure both you and Edwards! convert oxygen to carbon dioxide as well.

I just saw the pic. Not bad.

Yeah, that you make intelligent posts sometimes just makes it more confusing that you also post incoherent bullshit.

You post a mixture of unintelligent and/or incoherent crap, and what I presume is fun bullshit for you.

I take it that this is the "fun bullshit" you post?

I limit myself to intelligent and cogent arguments with anyone willing to reciprocate. Resort to childish insults or repeated use of clearly fallacious arguments, and all bets are off.
