New 7-Elevens... |
|
Posted by 5301 Fishbowl on Sun Apr 20 15:35:57 2014 A new Travel Plaza recently opened by JFK Airport, and it includes a gas station, a car wash, a food court with a few fast food restaurants, and a full fledged 7-Eleven:And here's an interior shot, taken from the food court area: Here's another new 7-Eleven, not too far away on Farmers Boulevard in St. Albans: And as a bonus, here's a shot of a new one away from the NY area, this one in Glassboro, New Jersey on the campus of Rowan University: Thanks! |

It is a great place to wait for people you are picking up at the airport.I like the Circle-K at Dulles Airport. I used it recently for toll avoision. |

Is this the one up near the Belt and between the two entry roads (east of Federal Circle)? If so, glad to hear it is open -- makes it more likely that I'll refill the tank on rental cars that I'm returning... |

A new Travel Plaza recently opened by JFK AirportWe had a member break down there, and we couldn't find him because it was so new, and nearly nobody knew about it including the tow stations. It took us forever to finally realize that this place even exists, and where it's located. I guess I now have an excuse to go roadgeeking at the airport. :-P Here's another new 7-Eleven, not too far away on Farmers Boulevard in St. Albans: One Facebook friend who lives in the area was happy that it opened, and the neighbourhood is finally moving up... |

You don't have to sit in your car at the travel plaza.Which is probably going to make it perfect for the car service and taxi drivers looking to take a break, or airport employees. Plus, as you said, it's great for hiding out when you're waiting for somebody to land... |

I was coming from NJ, so I took the Belt to the Nassau Expressway to the JFK Expressway south one exit. It's officially at the corner of 147th Street and 147th Avenue. The gas there was expensive, I believe it was $4.06 for regular yesterday... |

I guess 147th and 147th doesn't quite have the ring of toity-toid and toid, though. How does $4.06 compare to the price of regular at other stations? (I haven't been home in a while!) The rental car companies will get you for as much as 3 or 4 dollars a gallon above the market price if you return a car without filling the tank. |

Circle K's are also returning to NJ after they were here briefly in the early 2000's. Two have opened recently (Monmouth Junction and Morganville) and 8 more are scheduled to open in the next few months... |
