The closest it comes is that his guidance counselor says she's never seen anything like it in her 15 years. But that really doesn't translate into it's the first time it's happened, just that in her experience, she's never seen it in her 15 years there. |

Not to take away from this very real accomplishment, but the fact is hardly anybody applies to all 8 Ivy colleges. The 8 Ivies are sufficiently different that most kids only apply to the several of them that most fit into what they are looking for in a college. And there are so many other good colleges that "Ivy-level" applicants usually also apply to several excellent non-Ivies.What I am saying is that if more kids with superb high-school records applied to all 8 Ivies, I am sure this story would not be so unusual. |

But there are always kids that any college would want. I have never seen anyone apply to all 8 Ivies. This goes back to my days in an elite high school, and my 2 boys' days in a different one. |
