Her prior history is as unimportant as Laura Bush's was (and note that no one with any integrity brought up Laura Bush's misconduct as a reason not to vote for George Bush). As for why she has had an unusual sexual history, just as a matter of curiosity and not politics? Who knows? People are different. Many people have real heteroxexual relationships and then decide they are gay. Why can't it work the other way from time to time? |

If she has sex with other women while married, it would not really be cheating. If she's penetrated by a strap-on dildo, maybe it's cheating. I don't know. It's totally different when it's woman on woman action. Most men would not mind their woman being with another woman. What bothers me most about this couple is this photo.

Do you know what that word means? I don't think anyone is attacking me. And where did I issue a diatribe? And where are my personal attacks? Everything I said has been well-documented and said by the wife herself. Unless you consider calling a self-proclaimed lesbian a lesbian an attack? That would mean that you have the issues, not me. |

Her prior history is as unimportant as Laura Bush's was."I seem to recall Liz Cheney being used as a political tool by the left to show how hypocritical Cheney was. And she wasn't elected to anything either. Oh, and by the way, De Blasio has stated that his wife will have a major role in his mayoralty. So unless he backs off on that, you have elected her to something. Seems to me only lefties' personal lives are their own. Correct? |

Bachman's husband is a public figure taking a very public stand on sexual issues. DeBlasio's and Bush's wives are not. I would think nevertheless that the critiques of Bachman's husband should have stuck to what he was saying and not to his possible sexual identity. |

Teresa Heinz Kerry attacked Laura Bush prior to the 2004 election for never having held a "real job" in her adult life. She later apologized, but only after a political firestorm. I remember it very well. Here is the USA Today article detailing the sordid business. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/president/2004-10-20-heinz-kerry_x.htm |

I have a washing machine in the house. No one can see me. When in Queens, I drop off at a laundromat. A real man would not be seen in public doing his own laundry. If Ms. McCray was a lesbian, as she herself stated, then she would have no choice but to sexually favor women. That is what we have been told for years now - sexuality is not a choice. Correct? So there are only a finite number of possibilities here. (1) Ms. McCray is still a lesbian and her marriage is a sham. (2) Ms. McCray was actually bisexual, not a lesbian, so she was wrong when she said she was a lesbian. (3) Ms. McCray was actually heterosexual but didn't know it when she said she was a lesbian. (4) Bill de Blasio is actually a woman; or, most controversially, (5) Ms. McCray opted out of lesbianism. |

Indeed - but that is not the case here.In fact, Ms. McCray's transformation from lesbian to mayor's wife and mother could lend credibility to a Republican charge that homosexuality is a choice and can be "cured". I personally don't agree with that, but you can bet someone on the far right is thinking that. |

Heh - many years ago, a friend of my parents suggested that marriage licenses come with expiration dates, like driver's licenses. This would cut down on divorces - if the marriage license expired and you both agreed that it wasn't working out, you'd just split up and that would be that. No muss, no fuss, no need for lawyers. If you wanted to stay together, you'd pay a small fee and get the license renewed. And you could opt for licenses that called for renewals every year, every two years, every five years or every ten years. To be honest with you, its not the worst idea I've ever heard. |
