Why do people do this?For some it's a substitute for drugs. Essentially it's self-medication. It may also give them a short-lived boost of self-confidence and reassurance for their otherwise lack of self-identity and personal confusion. Like alcohol. Just like drugs and alcohol, it can be toxic. Your acquaintance may be schizophrenic. |
