I submitted the requisite documents this afternoon at the Essex County Municipal Office complex. It can take up to 6 weeks for processing the paperwork at which time I hope to open my Snow Cone and Shaved Ice stands in Newark and Perth Amboy. I have decided to take a wait and see approach before expanding my business to Manasquan and Point Pleasant. I will probably be successful in this endeavor. Please monitor this thread periodically for status updates to include the specific locations and the "Grand Opening" of my Snow Cone and Shaved Ice stands, and thanks. |

I intend to add flavors over time as things develop. There are a couple Newark locations that are licensed commercial for food vending and the ones I am looking at are immediately south of and adjacent to the NJT/PATH layup tracks at Green Street and/or South Street. This is how Colgan Air is packaging theirs as an example. Note the lack of a container which of course causes premature melting:![]() Here's hoping your container vendor helps to provide a more appealing presentation to the customer and thanks for your time. :) |

I remember back in the 60's heading south to Monmouth on the Garbage State interchange there off the Turdpike giggling every time I saw the Hess building there off to the right. I've been looking for pictures of that monstrosty over the past few years and turned up nothing. Apparently HESS' management got tired of the jokes and redid the building (or tore it down or something, maybe it caught fire like Linden Exxon or something and burned to the ground) so as to not look like a silly gas pump anymore. Damned shame because I always admired whimisical architecture like LAX and that TWA building at JFk and such. :) |

I have failed to reach the following goals, in no particular order, I set out to achieve since my childhood:1. 2. Professional ice hockey player 3. NYC Subway T/O Said failures are nothing less than hopes unfulfilled, dreams unrealized, and prayers unanswered. This is why my Snow Cone business is something I continue to pursue with a singular and unrelenting purpose. I will not allow those chargé d'affaires, in this case the County of Essex Commercial Certification and Licensing Board, to intimidate me to the point of accepting a lesser area to set up my stands; that is, some overgrown, worthless location on some gang infested intersection in east Newark far from my requested sites. It is not my intent to infringe on any other business. All I want is fair and equitable treatment under the law. All I want are my rights. Once incorporated as a LLC, I will provide my shaved ice to you free of charge and that means each and every time you frequent my establishment. I hope you will tell your family and friends about my ices and that you will try my product, and thanks. |
