A STUNOD name...It's "stunad"/stunada/stunata" from the word "stonata/o" meaning "stunned" or "dazed" as if after a concussion. It also means "out of tune". |

You realize that when people are interviewed on news shows, etc, they see the questions before the actual interview and that 9 out of 10 of us would stammer and stutter in the on-the-fly situation this girl is in, right?your pal, Fred |

And better yet, we always gave them the chance for a news interview at least of stopping "tape" and asking them if they wanted to do it over again given that might not be their best answer. |

For "staged presentations" like the one in question here, it's supposed to be part of the preps, being ready for that. I'm reminded of "Miss Congeniality" ... "oh yeah, and world peace." :)But as far as ordinary folks on teevee, did plenty of interviews in my days. If the "person on da street" came off like an idiot once we were rolling, we were always taught to ask them if they were sure that's what they wanted to say and give them plenty of opportunities to try it again, bring back the recording and cut out the dumb stuff. But if we asked them if they wanted to try it again and they didn't want to, then we went with what we bagged. And they'd call up the station and complain later. LOL |
