I think a lot of whites are intimidated by blacks in a fight.

Whites think that not all blacks are trouble, but think that when there are a lot of black kids around there will be trouble. Many blacks think this too and do all possible to get their kids into a less black school environment.

So I think everyone is in agreement, but you have to be careful how you phrase it.

SUSPEND HIM!!!!!

How can that behavior be tolerated?

He's the problem with society.

Look at that hair. How can parents let a kid look like that?

I don't worry about "trouble" in that way, but I see what you mean. At our local mall - well not our local mall, but the nicer local one in Torrance - they have an outdoor section with restaurants and a movie theater. Torrance barely has any black people, but on the weekend this outdoor area is largely filled with black teenagers going out with friends or on dates. Mostly well dressed, the girls have their hair nice, and not too many thug types. But because the crowd is largely black the police are always there with several cops expecting trouble. And there was trouble there once or twice, so it's not completely unwarranted. They had a couple of very large fights involving dozens of people. But I would let my kids hang out there.

That's how I felt about Italians as a kid.

They were always looking for trouble. Hanging out on Fresh Pond Rd, Juniper Valley Park, roller rink, wherever.

That seems to happen when people get in groups. I was the same way as a teenager. Less so than my friends who were definitely a bad influence.

Yeah, Del Amo Fashion Center. They tore down the dead end of the mall where the Montgomery Ward used to be and made an outdoor section which is now the most popular part of the mall. It's still not as popular as it used to be because malls in general have been fading badly.

Yeah, I've seen that on Google Earth. That was my favorite mall when I lived out there. Even worked at the Bullock's (now Macy's) for a little over a year part-time, then transferred to the Manhattan Beach store and stayed there a year and a half. Obviously the UA theaters that were at the north end are long gone, but I heard they closed the Mann Del Amo 9, which was on the south side, south of Carson St. Wonder what that was about, as that would not have been affected by the remodeling. I assume the new area has a fancy theater multiplex.

Not part of the mall proper, but I used to go to the Ralphs and Target across from the mall on the south side. Even patronized the Madrona Car Wash, which was south of the Target and close to the intersection of Sepulveda Blvd and Madrona Av. Looks like it's still open (or at least was as of December 2011:)

I think that the Mann theater became an LA Fitness. I was surprised that it closed as well, but that's been at least a decade. Not too long after the UA closed or maybe even before. I think that for a couple of years the mall had no movie theater. The new theater is a larger multiplex with maybe 15 screens. But some of the theaters are very small inside, so it's not really huge like the standalone multiplexes from the 80's and 90's.
