The 2007 Schumer-Graham letter was signed by 40 out of 49 Democratic Senators, both Independents caucasing with the Democrats, and 27 out of 49 Republican Senators. A 2010 version of the letter wasn't signed by such flaming liberals as Orrin Hatch and Mitch McConnell. |

In the Army, somebody on active duty can have 100% of his/her tuition (used to be 75%) paid but only up to a certain amount.That's it. As for the Post-9/11 GI Bill, all that does is provide a similar benefit at any accredited college but only up to amount of the highest yearly tuition of a public university in the State where the veteran is attending. They'll pay for almost all of it at Stony Brook, not at Columbia or NYU. |

AFAIK, you get free medical and meds if you've got a service-connected disability rated at 30% or higher, Purple Heart or not.PH recipients still have to have a service-connected disability rating of some kind (even if less than 30%) to get those freebies. |
