I certainly ain't a Republican. Hagel's the pick of the POTUS and the guy is a genuine Nazi. It's amusing to watch the libs try to attack the straw man that the president himself set up, though. |

She was crucified purely for her judicial philosophy. Never got nominated, although she was his first choice. She also has no nanny issues. You're thinking of Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood. They both did the right thing by withdrawing and paying the fines and taxes owed. Some years later, Willard M Romney did NOT. Yet you didn't seem to have any issue with that. |

Lani Guinier was never nominated for Attorney General. It might also interest you to know that prominent democratic senators urged Bill Clinton to withdraw her nomination because she did miserably during the interviews.By the way - she was nominated for Assistant Attorney General From Wikipedia: "In addition, Democratic Senators such as David Pryor of Arkansas and Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts informed President Clinton that her interviews with senators were going poorly and urged him to withdraw the nomination.[7] According to Clinton's autobiography, Democratic Senator Carol Moseley-Braun of Illinois, the only African-American who was serving in the upper chamber at that time, also urged the President to withdraw Guinier's nomination.[8] President Clinton took the advice of these elected officials and withdrew her nomination, claiming he was unfamiliar with her writing and that he didn't realize that she advocated pure racial quotas as opposed to affirmative action, as opponents had charged. The charge was false; Guinier had many times explicitly rejected the use of racial quotas in her law review articles.[9]" So once again you are not posting facts. It was not the Republicans but it was the party of "exclusion" who sandbagged her. |

As a Jew who was born and raised in the United States, but whose heart is also in Israel, it disgusts me that there are fellow Jews who want Israel to commit national suicide, and just give up part of the Jewish biblical holy land away. |

It disgusts me that there are fellow Jews who would commit genocide for any reason, let alone by insane interpretation of the bible.Israel is a modern realization of the 2000 year hope to be a free people in our own land. If religious types had their way, we'd still be waiting another 2000 years for a "moshiach" to come and alleviate the unending suffering we experienced as strangers in every land in which we lived. |

In fairness to chicagomotorman, I don't think he's proposing genocide. I think he's proposing politely escorting folks to the border with a bit of cash in their pockets, under the assumption that they will be graciously welcomed by their neighbors. But even if it's not genocide, it's certainly ethnic cleansing. |

The rabbi at the synagogue I attended this morning made a number of fascinating points in his drash today, including that as Jews, we are obligated by the laws of our religion to not stand idly by if we see oppression or other wrongs in the world. Advocating genocide does not fit into that teaching IMO. |

But what's the point in giving land back to those that still attacks them? If anything they should offer citizenship to those that are willing to live peacefully under Israeli laws. I mean the land for peace idea was noble, but flawed when you have a group unwilling to renounce violence. |
