I guess that every other race comes here and keeps their ethnic identity to some extent and doesn't get lumped into some catchall. Or is it something else?It's something that's a bit more common with the the immigrants from the late 1960s to mid-1980s as they tended to view themselves as better than their native born African American counterparts. When you're an immigrants with two jobs working to send money back home to a country that's poor with family members living in shacks, some of the excuses that the native born give for not being able to finish school or find work come across as hollow. |
