We had IGA in Voorheesville, and that "Western Family" stuff was every bit as much crap s WalFart. And Sears built their foundation on cheap crap, so I can see all that as a wash. What bothers me is the inferior crap that they sell with a very high markup for them. Same for the Lowes and Homer's Despot when it comes to materials. Meanwhile, our own factories and farms are shutting down.I suppose I'm looking at it quite differently than the younger folks here. Once upon a time, folks didn't have to work two jobs in order to keep falling behind, maintained their own cars and had enough skills to replace their own door or fix their own toaster. I get a laugh when I see those ads now for "Home Warrantee" policies where you pay out the ass for someone to come and fix a faucet with crap parts that'll have them back in a year to do it again. I just find it kinda sad. Chalk me up as Andy Rooney I s'pose. :) |
