Those paying into the system today are covering those on it today. If you decide to provide alternatives to the system, then that money won't be going into the system any longer, and those on it won't have services much longer.All of this talk about "privatizing" it is intended to shut it down for those already collecting because "whoops ... no more money coming in to the pay as you go." The existing "trust fund" is merely a buffer between input and output. |
