And although I put it in a simple (what you may decide to be "partisan") is that it's the TRUTH.

But you can't seem to realize when people are on your side, and then proceed to hurt your overall cause. You don't seem to understand how normal debate and conversations flow from your posting style, and because you feel entitled to "cut to the chase" you drive others trying to politely flesh out their viewpoints crazy.

Yes, I try to make every situation "funny" ... that's my style. Think of me as the "Stewart/Colbert" thing here.

Think what you want, but personally, I don't find your posts to be all that humorous. I can think of plenty of other people who would get my nomination for resident comedian before you.

During my years in journalism, I was never allowed to have an opinion and was NEVER allowed to choose sides.

Now that I'm out of it, I have DECADES of bile ... I'm taking the cure here because I was never allowed to do it when I was working in the business.

How is that the problem of anyone else here? No one forced you to work in journalism as far as I know. Just because you did something way back when that required you to suppress your personal opinions doesn't give you the right to interrupt others' discussions in the way you do. Guess what, other people here have restrictions imposed upon them by their employers, too. It doesn't give us an excuse to be an ass.

Now if somehow you can convince the righties to stop posting shit

The extreme left does the same thing. Takes one to know one I guess.

But when I have to come here and read things like "selcock" and "lol" to responses, PLEASE don't expect me to be any more serious about any of this than the others here.

I'm not responsible for the behavior of others. Take your issues up with those people directly, not me. And no one is making you come here, you choose to come here and if the way people treat you makes you so incredibly upset, perhaps you should consider not reading the board or not reading certain people's posts.

Politico.com, New York Times 538 pages and a raft of other places have people actually DISCUSSING issues.

If you and others stopped the mudslinging, you might discover there are people here discussing the issues too. Again, stop blaming everything on everyone and anyone else.

Sorry it bothers you, but both bingbong and I believe in "proportional response"

Your response that got this whole thing was far less than proportional considering the polite, reasonable back and forth that was going on before you decided to cut to the chase as you put it. That is why people probably posted sentiments agreeing with what I wrote (I realize others posted the opposite sentiment, too).

I'd MAKE the effort like I once used to here to be more like a moderator and journalist ... but there's absolutely zero inspiration to bother here with the responses from the others.

This seems to be your usual mantra. Because of X, Y, or Z, I don't feel that I need to do A, B, and/or C and until K and L change their behavior, I won't change mine. Either hold yourself to a higher standard and set an example or stop complaining about how you get treated. I'm not going to try convincing anyone here I'm a perfect angel myself, but admitting you have a role to play in all the things you are complaining about might be a good first step towards the community you supposedly want to be in.
