The other side of the argument is very simple. Left-wing bring-out-the-vote organizations canvas neighborhoods and sign up new voters with very little regard for eligibility. Therefore we need voter ID laws to make sure that only those who are actually eligible really vote. There is no discrimination here; a well-off person who doesn't meet residency requirements is going to be prevented from voting just like the little old lady who happens never to have gotten her citizenship. |
