Actually, it was reported that a lander that NASA was testing out crashed and burned, total loss. They were trying to use less expensive parts and fuel, but when they tried untethered flight, it crashed.

There's not much point in pointing out failures in somebody's space program. Everybody's space programs have had failures in the past. After all, look at the failure in planning/financing for not having a replacement for the space shuttle on hand when the shuttles were retired.
