Not as bad as last week's Pew poll, which was D+19, giving Obama an 11 point lead. Polls are pretty much acting like German generals towards the end of the war, afraid of telling Hitler the truth and doing everything possible to entertain his deluded visions of victory.

Now the flip side of this is that Obama has taken a 1 point lead over Romney with the only pollster using a fair sample of likely voters (Rasmussen), the first time in a month. But to put even THAT into perspective, Gallup had Kerry ahead in August 2004, Dukakis ahead in August 1988 and Carter ahead in August 1980.
