Very true.One of my uncles had enlisted with the US Army, for one year, in the early part of 1941. He was due to get out, but Dec.7th, extended his enlistment for the duration. He survived North Africa, and Normandy's Omaha beach, France, and Holland, then into Germany. Some, in his unit, were told they would be going to the Pacific. The US Army had some kind of Point system to get out. I Don't know where he stood. But Happy Hiroshima Day, took care of that. |
