Where I live we have the LA Sheriff, but we border the LAPD on the south and west. The areas patrolled by both police forces have had drastic drops in crime over the last decade. I think that a huge part of it is that gangs have been disappearing. LA city and the communities that surround it probably only have 30% of the gang members that we had back in the 90's and even lots of them are in their 30's and 40's now. |
