OK, if it "means exactly what the dictionary says it means", then "at any time after the fact" suggests no time limit on when a "mainstream religion" can disavow an earlier atrocity committed in its name. That means it could be centuries or millenia before such a disavowal is made. My question still stands.The Catholic Church, for example, has still not "disavowed" the horrors it perpetrated during the Spanish Inquisition, during the Middle Ages. |
