Bureau of Disability Insurance in Woodlawn in what was called the Dickinson Building, later renamed the Security West Building. First as a Benefit Authorizer later a Operations Supervisor (we checked what BA's were doing, making sure they were doing the job correctly) Started in 1975 and retired in early 2005. Over 250,000 people work in SSA in Baltimore in 17 buildings in Woodlawn and 13 in downtown Baltimore. Got a Social Security card? They all come from an office in Woodlawn. |
