Was there a commemoration on the 20th anniversary during Barcelona '92?

Nothing beyond the regular commemoration they supposedly do each Olympics.

There is not one Olympics that goes by without mention of it.

This is the first where I remember so much discussion about it.

You don't need a moment of silence for every tragic event that may occur or we will be spending every festive event like an Olympics commiserating about the past instead of celebrating the present and future.

The Olympics ought to commemorate this tragic event which countered the Olympic movement stated goals, instead of trying to pretend it didn't happen. What do you think of the Iranians dropping out to avoid facing Israelis? The idea is that everyone comes together despite conflicts, personal differences, etc. to compete in sport and to put politics aside. Recognizing the time that it didn't happen during an Olympic Games would be a remarkable statement to make and one that should be made IMO.
