Imagine you're a teenager who has just discovered he is gay. He sees all his friends becoming Scouts and knows clearly that people like him are not accepted by Scouting. The social ostracism he experiences can hardly be good for his development towards adulthood (a primary goal of Scouting, IINM), now can it? |
