You still aren't seeing the message the Scouts are sending by excluding gays. Why, then would an openly gay person want to join the military before DADT was repealed?It's about being accepted as full members of society. By excluding gays, the Scouts are sending a clear message that gays are "less than", "wrong" and "unacceptable" to them. That's quite a harsh lesson for a gay teen to learn at such a young age. |
