She stated she came forward after Zimmerman's arrest because she felt "safe" from him, that is, she knew she wouldn't run into him on the street. In other words, she's saying that if she'd come forward sooner, she feared retaliation by him. Given Zimmerman's history of violence, that's not an unreasonable assumption.It's not at all unusual for victims of pedophiles to come forward with their accusations years, even decades, after the fact. Why should this woman be any different? |
