BBS-ing was limited, and nobody really remembers them aside from a small number of longtime geeks. Back when we ran the BBS, these were casual, above all local (long connection times and long distance charges quickly dissuaded long distance connecting) and limited to those that had what was at the time very expensive equipment. It was a time people like you....the mass of non-high tech hobbyists were even aware that BBS' and their fledgling networks existed. |
