Must've missed that part, they only talked about disclosure regarding his ethics filings, not necessarily if he gave incorrect data on his tax returns. The OP says "Only the Romneys' 2010 tax records, released under political pressure earlier this year, confirmed their continuing control of the company." Assuming that, since his company was mentioned on the 2010 tax returns, it has probably been mentioned on every year's applicable tax returns, why would you think that the IRS wouldn't have already conducted an investigation if there was any chance that he had given incorrect data? It seems the IRS has always known about this company, it's only the public that is just finding out the additional details now. |
