If you take a look at LAN Chile, they have done a very good job of managing multiple models, which is what Jet Blue could do after a merger with AA.LAN runs local low cost carriers within the domestic markets in South America and also a distinct high-margin international airline as well a a substantial cargo business. They are generally regarded as the best run airline in the western hemisphere. AA's international routes (supplemented by the alliance with BA and Iberia) coupled with a Jet Blue approach to the US domestic market following LAN's approach could potentially work. |
