Chris, the "October surprise" was related to the Iran Contra affair, where many members (including the president who wasn't prosecuted only because of his mental impairment) of the White House acted clearly and deliberately in defiance of laws enacted by Congress.There was no "waste" in that matter, it was a completely legitimate investigation into actual illegal activity. Just like Watergate. |
