I pay taxes to the government. A portion of those taxes are intended to provide for law enforcement. I will not do a job that I pay the government to do - even if I had the statutory authority to do it.One of the ways the government is doing that is by holding employers responsible for verifying the immigration status of their workers and levying penalties on those who employ illegal immigrants. I don't think there's any statutory prohibition against your choosing to comply with the law. Now as to my personal life that you seem so obsessed with. When I took my Civil Service job and raised my right hand I did not pledge to support the politics of the left. They did not say that I could not be a Civil Service employee if I held conservative views. I earned my pension - every penny. When I retired I had 326 sick days and 108 vacation days left over. I worked for that pension. You don't like it? Get the fuck over it. You don't like that I retired at a relatively young age? I worked 7 years beyond the minimum retirement age so get the fuck over that too. I don't have the so called "I got mine" attitude that you and a few other envious bitches seem to believe. I really don't care about your personal life. I'm happy you were able to retire, and I know you worked hard for it. I'm not the least bit envious, I have no qualms with the fact that my taxes and fares enabled you to do so, and I generally support candidates who feel the same way. |
