There are no income tax repercussions to a defense fund. It's a sequestered fund designed to be dipped into only by the attorney engaged in the legal defense. We've done this before and know the rules. You're not allowed to touch that money at all. And anything left over MUST be returned to the donators at the end. You don't get a penny from it. |
