Self interest includes preservation of the business and its capacity to produce. This involves re-investment of profit in the equipment and maintenance of same to ensure the ability to produce n0t only endures but is enhanced (new tech investments). Read the Georgetown Steel article, you'll see Bain cut off all maintenance and reinvestment as soon as they landed there. Before long,they could not produce. |
