I doubt there are many on this board who have been union members longer than I have: 42 years and counting; I believe in unionism but wish unions would not enter into these high stakes confrontations.The unions did much better in Ohio where they appealed to fairness in pointing out that they had made concessions and called for simple justice instead of power confrontation. Unions today have neither the strength nor public sympathy to play radical. Debs is dead. |
