Refusing consent to search in these situations will often result in a police dog being brought to the scene. The dog will inevitably "alert" to the presence of drugs in thr car, usually in the front of the vehicle, where the handler's subtle hand signals to the dog don't get picked up by a dash cam. Voila! Instant probable cause to search the car, and grab the cash as "drug proceeds".
