Shea was circular like so many National League parks of that era.MSG generates revenue because it is multipurpose. Yet people complain that Shea was multipurpose. Unreal. It was time to move on from Shea to Citi, but that does not make Shea a dump. The box seats and first tier were fine for watching games. Upstairs was kind of high. MSG has issues. They only allow access from 7th Avenue which results in a very long exit time from the venue. They did this on purpose to make the MSG experience less enjoyable. And MSG is circular while the trend in new venues is the opposite. MSG architecture was inspired by a venue in Utica, NY. |
