Manny Pacquiao opposes Obama’s stance on same-sex marriage

Manny Pacquiao, a boxing champion and politician in his native Philippines, is staunchly opposed to same-sex marriage and President Obama’s recent stance favoring it.

Pacquiao called same-sex marriage “an abomination” and referring to the Bible, said, “God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other.”

Pacquiao, who hopes to become an evangelist one day, told the National Conservative Examiner: “It should not be of the same sex so as to adulterate the altar of matrimony, like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah of old.”

Pacquiao (54-3-2 with 38 knockouts) is training for his June 9 bout with Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12 KOs).
