Hebrew is a gender-specific language, all nouns have a gender and the verbs and adjectives take the gender accordingly. Were this newborn a son, your translation would be correct. However, beautiful, little, and baby all need to be in the feminine in this case. (The word for beautiful is spelled the same way regardless of whether it is in the feminine or masculine, only the vowels change. Also, the word baby is always written in the feminine unless the baby is known to be a boy.) You should have written this: מזל טוב, איזה תינוקת קטנה ויפה!! |
