Reminds me of "The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit." Gregory Peck (IIRC) is offered $10,000 salary and he asks for $15,000 (remember it was something like 1955). After he leaves one executive asks the other "how much should we pay him?" the other answers: "$12,500, he's strictly a 'split-the-difference man.'" |
