This would give the GOP a huge opening to paint Obama as a man who doesn't stand by his friends. The Nixon campaign shredded George McGovern this way in 1972 when he dumped Tom Eagleton for R. Sargent Shriver.Of course, this was before the word "Watergate" had found its way into the American political lexicon... |
