There was over 80% voter turnout in France. Unlike here in the US, people in Europe are active participants in the political process, voting diligently and often. This is the kind of voter involvement we should have here at home. Francois Hollande, the Socialist President-elect, understood this and appealed directly to the voters who were looking for change in government. This is how democracy is supposed to work. |
