If we have a functioning economy we can increase taxes and lower spending to cover the deficit. You know, like the beginning of 2001.As any economist who knows what they’re talking about, you run a surplus in good years and a deficit in bad years. Problem was a certain president, who skipped his economics classes like he skipped a lot of other things, didn’t realize that and gave away the surplus to his cronies as almost the first thing he did in office. |
