I should point out that "public hooliganism" and "civil disobedience" are the buzzwords used by the conservative right to describe any protest action they dislike. I saw very little such activity at OWS last night; out of an estimated 1700+ participants at the rally and on the march, the NYPD arrested...fifty, mostly for minor infractions.I still think it's appropriate for the TWU to appear at a rally that was comprised of many labor unions. |
