Things might even get to pre-recession levels, back to where they were in say 2006. But even that might not happen as things may be derailed by the turmoil in Europe.This is the reason there will be no real recovery. Bush brought down the economy both by encouraging more Mexican immigration and by allowing the sub-prime mortgage debacle, which gave credit to unworthy people (part of his "ownership society" rubbish). His foolish tax cuts and wars also served to eat out whatever was left of the Clinton-era federal budget surplus. But the economy was already screwed before Bush's policies pushed things over the edge. Between losses to automation and outsourcing and the growing low-IQ underclass, there simply isn't enough to sustain a healthy economy. |
