The Medium is a pretty tasteless, sophomoric publication, which shows its publishers’ lack of skills in everything from editing to layout to layout to post-production. It relies far to much on pictures of vaginas, boobs and penes, and all the old stereotypes.Over the years, The Medium has offended just about everyone. And has rarely apologized and probably never meant it. Students still read it and still vote for funds for it, which is why it’s still around. So this time, it was really tasteless and ventured into the area of the Jewish Holocaust and Hitler. Not very sensible, but the fact of the matter is that to a 18-something, the Holocaust is history, as is Hitler. And, like it or not, unless they are Jews and have [great-]grandparents who were part of it, they are sufficiently distanced from it, that they may find humor. It’s not specifically anti-Semitic, it’s just tasteless. |
