I'm one of the few conservatives who thinks the embargo should be lifted. We trade with countries as bad or worse than Cuba, like China and Vietnam. Lift the embargo and Cuba will be flooded with friendly middle-class American tourists again.But I sometimes think the Castro Brothers love the embargo. It lets them blame the US for their 50-year communist economic disaster. The last thing they want are planeloads full of Americans with iPhones, iPods and laptops mingling with the Cuban people. NYC is only about 4 hours away from Havana by air. |
