Yes, actually. Mainly because the prevalent form of Christianity in the US is obviously a construction of man. "Progressive" Catholicism is no different from Protestantism: a bunch of people trying to "interpret" Christianity, 2 millenia after the last primary source on the matter was made. Many treat it like a book club where the only book is the Bible, which is all well and good except:
-they are relying on a translation
-it is too far removed from the context it was originally written for

In a world where everyone makes up their own religious rules, there is no way to know which is correct, so the intelligent, rational course of action is to suspend all belief.

However, Religions like Eastern Orthodox or Traditional Catholicism are timeless. They do not give the appearance of changing to the whims of mankind. The sobering thought that 1,000 years ago, people were doing the exact same thing is enough of a sign that God may actually have a hand in this, and allows me to continue to believe.

Though there is a possibility that if the traditional Christian religions were somehow completely killed off before I had a chance to discover them, I may have gravitated towards Judaism, but more likely I simply would have said 'to hell with it'.
